Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko sparked concern on Thursday by announcing that Russia had begun moving tactical nuclear weapons to Belarus. Stating that storage facilities for the weapons were now operational, Lukashenko was asked by a journalist whether any weapons had already arrived in Belarus. He responded in a typically eccentric fashion, "Maybe. I will go and take a look."
Holiday weekends are always some of the most violent in Chicago. Last year, on Fourth of July weekend, 62 people were wounded and 10 were killed in gun violence. On Memorial Day weekend, nine were killed and 42 more were injured. Every year, everyone knows exactly what is going to happen, which should allow for proper preparation and prevention — yet nothing is done, and it is just as violent anyway.
President Joe Biden has made a strong choice in nominating Gen. Charles Brown to replace Gen. Mark Milley as the next Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Brown is a respected Air Force officer with two credentials in particular favor of his taking on this role.
The world has lost a legend. On Wednesday, the iconic Tina Turner, a woman who embodied rock and roll in its purest form, passed away in Switzerland. Tina’s remarkable journey to stardom and her indomitable spirit have inspired and spawned generations of future artists. She leaves behind her husband, Erwin Bach, and two of her four children.
Currently, in the Philadelphia suburb of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, there is a controversy involving the display of a "Pride" flag on government property on June 1 to commemorate the so-called "Pride" month. In doing so, local politicians made a unilateral decision to impose their morality and beliefs on a community. Yet, there is no need for this flag to be on any government property — especially since it doesn't represent everyone's values.
While the establishment media pundit sphere obsesses over declaring Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R-FL) campaign launch a disaster, everyone has made it clear that DeSantis is the front-runner in their mind.
Former President Donald Trump and his team are on edge about the candidacy of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis because DeSantis exposes several of Trump’s failures. You need to look no further than the current state of the FBI.
After months (if not years) of avid anticipation for his inevitable presidential campaign, including in the pages of the Washington Examiner, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) launched his 2024 bid not with a bang, but with a bust. Standing up to former President Donald Trump, the celebutante who became a working-class hero by blasting the corporate and media elites, the Florida governor made the inexplicable decision to debut the GOP's best chance to beat President Joe Biden during a glorified Twitter advertisement, flanked by two left-wing billionaires who are overt champions of corporate welfare.
Of all the theories trying to explain the causes behind inflation, the “greedflation” narrative is surely the worst. In short, the theory posits that inflation was primarily driven by corporate greed. It was an idea that had heavy support from far-left lawmakers, such as Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), along with a few liberal economists. However, on the whole, it was rejected. Seventy-nine percent of economists disagreed that corporations taking advantage of their market power to raise prices arbitrarily and increase their profits played a significant role in rising inflation.
Former Pennsylvania gubernatorial candidate and state Sen. Doug Mastriano is expected to announce his decision Thursday night whether he will be running for U.S. Senate and oppose incumbent Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) in the 2024 election. He stated earlier this week that he would do a Facebook Live event on Thursday evening. But if Republicans want to have any chance at reclaiming a seat in the Senate, voters should move on from Mastriano.
Last Tuesday, Cherelle Parker won the Democratic primary for the mayor of Philadelphia. While she technically still has to win the general election in November against her Republican opponent, former city Councilman David Oh, it’s almost a foregone conclusion Parker will be the city’s next mayor.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) revealed the worst-kept secret in politics by officially announcing his campaign for president on Wednesday. The campaign kickoff did not go as well as expected, with many technical issues plaguing the highly anticipated Twitter Spaces event. Nevertheless, DeSantis does have an impressive resume of accomplishments during his time in Congress and as governor that appeals to many Republican voters.
