“Populist politicians and parties,” writes the Ethics and Public Policy Center’s Henry Olsen in The Spectator, “are rapidly gaining strength and power across the developed world.” They’re doing so despite the opposition and angry scorn of political and intellectual establishments of Left and Right, and with a resilience that they find baffling.
The Democratic Party’s racial obsession may mask it, but you are seeing a shift in the political realignment of racial demographics right before your very eyes.
More than three years after George Floyd’s death at the hands of police, it is clear that Minneapolis allowed the Black Lives Matter movement to destroy it. Was it all really worth it?
On March 1, 1957, CBS televised Flannery O’Connor’s short story The Life You Save May Be Your Own, starring Gene Kelly and Agnes Moorehead. In the original story, a one-armed handyman named Mr. Shiftlet agrees to marry a woman’s handicapped daughter if he can keep her rundown car. Not caring much for the civil union, he abandons the girl in a bar and drives away to face the fury of God, symbolically spinning toward him in a tornado.
The Left is out to destroy our nation’s heritage and history, and they are no longer hiding their intentions. The latest attacks are occurring under the guise of social justice and diversity through so-called task forces and city council bills in New York City. The United Nations is a useless organization full of grandstanding and funded by billions in United States taxpayer dollars. You need not take my word for it, though; the U.N. secretary-general will tell you himself.
BRADDOCK, Pa. — Four days after Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) tweeted he was driving to Michigan to join the United Auto Workers on the picket line, and two days after Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) eased the Senate's dress code so the junior senator from Pennsylvania could wear the gym clothes he favors, Fetterman issued a vulgar post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) in response to a news story about upending norms.
In what amounts to his congressional exit interview, Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) told the Atlantic magazine, “A very large portion of my party really doesn’t believe in the Constitution.”
It is a commonly held and oft-expressed opinion that abortions of babies after 20 weeks occur only when the unborn baby has been diagnosed with a fatal condition or a severe disability, or when continuing the pregnancy poses a severe threat to the mother’s life.
