Once again, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) has delivered on a promise and upstaged the president in the process, proving that he is the most presidential candidate in the race on either side.

News outlets have become more biased on both sides of the aisle, and America's trust in the media is at an all-time low. As someone who works in political communications and is very familiar with defamation cases, even toward media outlets, I’ve seen false reporting ruin people’s lives. But this unfortunate swing has caused us to forget that there is also a power of media for good.

Democrats who hold out California as a model of governance for the nation were quick to blame COVID-19 for the state’s first-ever decline in population in 2020. But two years later, California’s population continues to shrink, and there doesn’t appear to be any desire or hope to reverse the state’s decline.

A Yahoo News/YouGov poll in mid-September asked an intriguing question: "What feelings come to mind when thinking about the upcoming 2024 presidential election?" There were a number of choices: "excitement," "indifference," "dread," "optimism," "depression," "exhaustion," and others.

As Christian advocates for victims of persecution around the world, we understand clearly the importance of secure borders: We never want the terrorists, criminals, or authoritarian actors that harass and sometimes martyr fellow Christians around the world to be able to do the same in the United States. But some are seeking to leverage negotiations over selecting a new speaker of the House of Representatives to pass into law a bill that, while purporting to secure the border, could actually slam the “golden door” on persecuted Christians and others “yearning to breathe free.”

While I was watching college football on ESPN this weekend, one of the commentators brought up something about Hispanic Heritage Month. Later, there was a commercial also mentioning the very same thing again.

It has now been almost two weeks since every Democrat in the House joined eight Republicans in ousting Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) from the speaker’s office. It does not appear that House Republicans are even a single step closer to picking a new leader.

When a black man was killed by a police officer in Minneapolis in 2020, it was treated as an attack on black people everywhere. From Baden, Ontario, to Bridgetown, Barbados, to Bangalore and Bloemfontein, statues of white men were taken down. Police officers around the world sank to one knee. Corporations, charities, and arts groups endorsed Black Lives Matter.
