BIDENOMICS 2023: INFLATION DOWN, PRICES UP. The government announced Tuesday that the consumer price index rose 3.2% in October from the same time last year. That is less than the 3.7% prices rose in September, leading to a lot of commentary about "good news" on inflation.

President Joe Biden will meet President Xi Jinping of China just outside of San Francisco on Wednesday. The much-anticipated meeting comes on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit. The nature of the Chinese Communist system and Xi's escalating paranoia mean that leader-to-leader exchanges are of crucial value. Biden's priority should be to disabuse Xi of his misconceptions about U.S. policy.

There is no reason California shouldn’t be able to repair and reopen Interstate 10 in Los Angeles in a timely matter, especially when other states have been able to finish similar projects quickly in the past two years.

Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT) claims to be a Republican. The senator from Montana is supposed to be a conservative. As such, his values are supposed to align with our nation’s founding principles and ones that run counter to the current generation’s shift toward prioritizing hedonistic pursuits. Conservatives are supposed to be the good guys, the defenders of morality and individual responsibility in society, and live by a code that helps improve the lives of their fellow citizens, not enable those people to get addicted to a dangerous drug.

TV host Mike Rowe said that eight years ago, he was switching the news channels on his television and saw several college students setting fire to the American flag and dancing around a pile of burning flags. They were telling reporters in interviews they were disgusted with Old Glory and “fearful” of the flag.

For years, liberals, Democrats, and other left-wing politicos emphasized the importance, nay, the necessity, of having equal representation in society. Time and time again, Democrats emphasized that black people must be elected to positions of power so black citizens could see elected leaders that “look like them.” However, when it came to potentially electing Kentucky’s first black governor, these very same people said no. Just like that, diversity and racial representation no longer mattered when it came to Kentucky’s election for governor.

It’s the harsh reality that many Republicans didn’t want to admit: Democrats outfoxed Republicans in the 2020 elections. With the COVID-19 pandemic in full effect, early and mail-in voting were political tactics used by the Democrats to win the election. Regardless of one’s feelings for such voting techniques and the many claims of fraud that accompanied them, the Democrats strategically used early and mail-in voting to mobilize the population and get out the vote. It was so successful that they used it again in the last two elections, much to the chagrin of GOP voters nationwide.

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Saudi Arabia on Saturday to participate in an emergency summit designed to address the war in Gaza. Erdogan has emerged as one of the most vociferous pro-Hamas voices since the Palestinian terrorist organization carried out a mass slaughter of Israelis on Oct. 7.

Unless something drastically changes, the United States will start experiencing more deaths than births by 2038, according to the Census Bureau’s National Population Projections released last week. Even with current levels of immigration, that would mean our overall population would start declining by 2080.
