President Biden hailed President Jimmy Carter for his remarkable rise from a modest childhood to a "life of purpose," during a state funeral Thursday attended by all living former presidents, including President-elect Donald Trump.

Jimmy Carter, who considered himself an outsider even as he sat in the Oval Office as the 39th U.S. president, was honored Thursday with the pageantry of a funeral at Washington National Cathedral before a second service and burial in his tiny Georgia hometown.

Rep. Jim Jordan ripped President Biden for considering preemptive pardons for former Rep. Liz Cheney and Dr. Anthony Fauci, among others.

Former first lady Michelle Obama did not attend the state funeral Thursday for former President Jimmy Carter.
